Bringing Great Northern Market to life, with Marcus Method
Great Northern Market was designed to bring the energy and creativity of Manchester into Manchester Terminal 2’s departure lounge. Six distinctive kitchens, endless flavour and a buzzing social space built for every kind of journey.
But beyond the food, one question circled around the vision from the very beginning – how do we visually capture the spirit of the North, and allow guests to truly immerse themselves into the brand? The answer was simple – Marcus Method.
A bold Northern voice
To help bring the market to life, we partnered with Sheffield-based visual artist Marcus Method, known for his bold, vibrant work spanning from in-studio pieces to street art and striking large scale murals.
Marcus’s style is expressive and layered. He builds from reference imagery, extracting shapes and patterns which he composes in a collage-like way, reworking and reimagining them into something entirely new.
It’s this creative process that immediately resonated with us. Diverse creative influences, brought together under one roof to create something distinctive and unique, a philosophy we believed mirrored Great Northern Market.

His hand painted full wall mural anchors the space, injecting movement, colour and rhythm into the heart of the venue. His vision extends across multiple brand touchpoints, from the physical interiors to menus and digital experiences, creating a cohesive visual identity that feels unmistakably our own.

A celebration of creativity
At its core, Great Northern Market is powered by Northern talent. Partnering with Marcus wasn’t just a partner collaboration, it was about embedding creativity into the DNA of the brand, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Together, the result is a food market that feels alive, rooted in place, and brought vividly to life through creativity.
Rooted in the North.
Made for all tastes.
